Ron Paul has started a “campaign for Liberty” since his failed bid for the White House. Part of the campaign is creating a strong grassroots  organization to help get out the word and to build momentum. One of their ideas is to have bookstores hold Ron Paul book clubs. I am seriously thinking of doing this. I am a Paul supporter and became very excited during the primary season when I found out how many other Paul supporters are in the hill country area. Also, I am so fed up with our government; they are controlled by those with money and power, not by us as they should be in a republic, and I don’t know what I can do about it. I can vote, of course, but it just doesn’t seem to be enough anymore when the candidates you have to choose from are already bought and paid for. So, this idea came along and I thought I might jump at it. Its either this or start a revolution with protests and marches. What do you think? Would you be open to a book club that centers around the belief in liberty and independence?

I have left the Democrats and the Republicans because they do not offer anything that I as a citizen want to see happen. What is left? For those of us who have lost all respect and trust in the status quo, Ron Paul offers a unique view point that resonates more with the American people. If Americans stand together and start seriously hunting for candidates that have not lost touch with us, then maybe we could help in turning this country around.

AND I am sick of hearing about drilling for more oil on our shores. For a short term effect, maybe. But why aren’t those in power pushing for alternative resources?Heaven knows this country is blessed with everything from wind to coal to organic resources. And electricity? Where will it come from as the US cannot build new plants and all we hear about is the fact that the world is losing water? So let us get serious and give Ron Paul and T. Boone Pickens our time. Heck maybe we could actually make some positive changes, wouldn’t that be unique.

It would be interesting so see what kinds of books would be part of Ron Paul’s bookclub.

I would like to say I am a supporter of Ron Paul. I would prefer he get his butt out of the Republican party before I go whole hog into his camp.

I understand his decision to run as a Republican, but I personally feel that in order to make the changes required in this country, it has to be forced through a third party. Maybe it’s not the Libertarians. Maybe it’s a new party. One that has Ron Paul and T. Boone Pickens leading as visionaries.
